How to write the letter W in cursive
Capitals and small letters, Rs 149Interiors are still being drawn, so this is a reservation through the contact page. No payment until the file is ready to send.
Capital W is two V shapes joined. Slant down to line 3, up to line 1, down again, and up, then finish with a small curve to the right. Small w works the same way inside the middle space and ends with a flat top stroke that joins the next letter.
What to watch on four-line copy
- Four slants, all the same width. Children usually squeeze the last one.
- Both points touch line 3.
- The exit at the top of w is why we and wa look odd when a child joins them from the base line.
The mistake to correct first
Three slants instead of four, which leaves the letter somewhere between v and w. Count the strokes out loud while writing, then check the two points.
Practice strip
Trace the shape three times slowly, then write the pair on your own four-line copy. Two minutes a day beats one long session on Sunday.
