How to write the letter Y in cursive
Capitals and small letters, Rs 149Interiors are still being drawn, so this is a reservation through the contact page. No payment until the file is ready to send.
Capital Y starts with an up stroke to line 1, comes down to line 3, then a second stroke from line 1 meets it and carries on down into a loop above line 4. Small y is a u shape in the middle space with a tail that loops below line 3 and into line 4.
What to watch on four-line copy
- Small y is small u with a tail. If u has a pointed base, y will have one too.
- The tail of y loops to the left, the same way as g.
- The body stays in the middle space. Only the tail enters line 4.
The mistake to correct first
The tail stopping on line 3, which leaves the letter looking like u followed by a comma. Take the loop down into line 4 and bring it back up to join.
Practice strip
Trace the shape three times slowly, then write the pair on your own four-line copy. Two minutes a day beats one long session on Sunday.
